2005 Glass City Open Dates Announced by InsidePOOL Magazine

2005 Glass City Open Dates Announced

Dates for the 2005 Glass City Open have been announced, and Toledo's Clarion Hotel Westgate in northwestern Ohio will again host the event.  Balls will break on November 9 and run through the 13, and it is reported that negotiations are taking place with Billiard Club network (BCn) and Buckeye Cable Sports Network (BCSN) for broadcasting rights of this year's event.

The 2004 Glass City Open, won by Charlie "Hillbilly" Bryant was produced by BCSN and is currently running on the Empire Sports Network.  It will also be broadcast on Comcast Sports Network in Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; and Sacramento, CA; and on Altitude Sports Network in Denver, CO, and Salt Lake City, UT.

The 2005 Glass City Open, a must-attend event for top pros and talented amateurs, will limit its field to 128 players. Qualifiers for this event will take place in various poolrooms, taverns, and nightclubs throughout the year. Entry into the 2005 event is $300 before November 1 and $350 after. As in past years, there will be an amateur team 8-ball event playing in the atrium of the hotel from November 11-13.

The official event charity is The Children's Miracle Network, which will host our "Beat The Champ" booth where anyone making a $5 donation can play one of the pros.  Anyone who beats the pro will receive an autographed t-shirt.

Also, a VIP/Press and Media party will be held in the playing arena on Tuesday, November 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel Westgate and will mark the official start of the 2005 event.

For more information on the event, to buy Glass City Open merchandise, or to host or play in a Glass City Open qualifier, visit the official website: www.GlassCityOpen.com or call 419-726-5062.
