2005 HAll of Fame Inductees Named by InsidePOOL Magazine

2005 HAll of Fame Inductees Named

Dodson & Massey selected for honors in Las Vegas

Colorado Springs, Colorado: The Billiard Congress of American [BCA] has released the results of its annual voting and named two inductees to the 2005 BCA Hall of Fame. BCA Voting Members have selected Robin Bell Dodson in the Greatest Player Category and Mike Massey for Meritorious Service and will induct the two at a ceremony in Las Vegas on April 7, 2005.

Robin Bell Dodson began playing pool at the age of 12 and was crowned the California Women's Champion at 16, launching a career that would span over 20 years of professional competition. After a five-year break from the sport, spent in devotion to her faith and her family, she returned to billiards in 1984 and continued to excel. Known for her steely determination and accurate shot making, Ms. Dodson claimed 27 professional tournament titles and was aptly nicknamed "Bankroll" for her winning ways throughout a stellar career.

Mike Massey has been considered pool's best trick shot artist for almost 30 years and has given substantial visibility to the sport by traveling the globe to perform exhibitions and compete in a variety of disciplines. He holds multiple national and international titles in his own right, but has been even more influential in the sport as an accomplished instructor, consultant and fundraiser. From setting up shots for "Minnesota Fats" to co-authoring Mike Massey's World of Trick Shots and promoting the sport worldwide, Mr. Massey's contributions have been far-reaching.

As a featured special event at the BCA Expo, the 2005 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 7, at 7:00 pm, at the Las Vegas Hilton.

Guests are welcome to join in honoring these outstanding billiard personalities, along with other Hall of Fame members, and enjoy full presentations, hors d'oeuvres, dessert buffet, cash bar and plenty of music. The cost is $45 per person, and a sign up form can be downloaded from BCA-Pool.com (following the special events link in the Expo Attendee Manual) or by calling Gabriele Stephenson at 719-264-8300 x102 for details, or to request a mailed form.
