David Hanshaw did a great job of running the event, which took place on October 25, 2003. Abbink cruised through the winners' bracket unscathed, defeating players such as Lonnie Fox, Karyn Stroh, and CJ Jerome before meeting Rim in the hot seat match, where she defeated Rim 7-2. Rim, a Michigan local, defeated Susan Wade, Kelly Pendleton, Jaki Lovrince, and Andrea Knieper before her loss to Abbink that put her in the one-loss side. There she went head-to-head with Tara David, who took second place at the tour's first stop, and won the hill-hill match. In the Abbink/Rim rematch, both ladies played some great pool and fought hard against each other, but it seemed as if Abbink ultimately got more rolls than her opponent did, and she ultimately won the finals by the score of 9-5. The J. Pechauer Michigan Women's 9-Ball Tour's next stop will be on December 5-6, 2003, at Bogart's Billiard Café and will be a $500-added event. For more information, visit www.mw9ball.com.
