Abbink had few problems skating through the field.  She served Kelly Pendleton her first loss when they were in the final four players in the winners’ bracket, and then she went o­n to best Betsey Sundholm 7-3 in the hot seat match.  Pendleton fought her way into the semifinal match against Sundholm and defeated her 7-3 for the chance to score revenge against Abbink.  However, in the extended race to 9 that was the final match, Abbink held true to her excellent play throughout the weekend and bested Pendleton 9-7.
