Because the Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour events are all true double-elimination, Baraks had to beat Nevel, the current Viking Tour champion, twice for the win. He soundly defeated him in the first set by the score of 7-2, and then he broke and ran the first two racks of their second set. Baraks only allowed Nevel to win one game throughout the second set. He broke and ran out two more racks to reach the hill, and then was forced to play a jump shot on the 2 ball, which he hit successfully. Nevel was left safe and kicked at the 2, only to hit it and scratch. Unwilling to take any more, Nevel raked in the remaining balls and conceded, with Baraks winning the second set 7-1. Eric Alm was the lucky winner of the Viking cue stick during this event. The next Viking Tour event will take place October 4-5, 2003, and be located at Cue-Can-Do Billiards in Schaumberg, IL.
