BCA Open o­n ESPN2

2004 matches scheduled for 16 additional hours in July and August

Colorado Springs, CO. - ESPN loves billiards! Each year, the BCA supplies the sports network with four hours of programming from the semi-finals and finals matches of the BCA Open 9-Ball Championships. Since the tournament began in 1999, the tournament has been aired more hours each year, with a record 64 hours of airtime for the 2003 matches. The 2004 matches have already been scheduled for 37 hours, with 16 hours just announced for July and August (schedule below).

This is welcome news to the event sponsors who receive exposure through rotating arena banners, just like those used by the NBA in pro basketball games. Unlike 30-second spots, these banners cannot be edited out. Each sponsor receives an equal amount of rotational time to send their message to millions of ESPN viewers who love billiards and just may be looking for a place to play or to purchase a table, cue, bed of cloth or accessory item.
The 2004 event sponsors are Connelly Billiards (official table), McDermott Cue (official cue), Championship Billiard Fabric (official cloth), Imperial International (official ball), Econo Lodge (official hotel partner), Tweeten Fibre (official chalk), Sardo Tight Rack (official rack), Brunswick Billiards (official furniture), American Poolplayers Association (arena), Billiards Digest (arena), BCA Leagues (host) and the Riviera Hotel & Casino (host).

BCA member room operators are invited to submit a proposal to host a qualifier. Four men's and four women's qualifiers will be held in February and March 2005, with the winner of each earning entry into the pro event. Host bid packets will be sent to BCA members in September 2004.  Sponsorships for the 2005 event are available exclusively to BCA members, and bid packets will be distributed in September 2004.
