BCA Rolls Out New Junior Billiards Program by InsidePOOL Magazine

BCA Rolls Out New Junior Billiards Program

Keeping the Focus on Youth

BCA_juniors_logo02.jpgColorado Springs, Colorado: After the successful "spin off" of its adult league system to new ownership earlier this year, the Billiard Congress of America (BCA) has renewed its commitment to the growth and promotion of billiards among the youth of North America. For the coming season, the BCA has combined its current junior league system with the growing junior membership program to form a single category entitled "Junior Billiards."

Designed to enhance a relationship between the BCA and its junior members, as well as introduce more young athletes to the sport, "Junior Billiards" continues the tradition of identifying junior league members to attend marquee national events like the 2005 Junior & Collegiate 9-Ball National Championships. At the same time, the new program expands the overall youth program by offering increased entries to the junior championship, from among all eligible junior leagues nationwide.

By combining the two programs, the BCA can continue to provide a structured setting for junior cueists, from beginners to elite players. Increased interest in junior billiards across the country validates a strong focus on youth and justifies the development of a new program of this type. By doing so, the BCA hopes to build the strongest junior national event possible.

Please refer to appended materials for an outline of the new Junior Billiards program, or find program information online at http://www.bca-pool.com/, under the "Play" > "Juniors" tab -- or direct to: www.bca-pool.com/play/membership/juniormem.shtml.
