Binion Nabs Viking Tour WinBy Bill Rosenberger John Binion speared the competition at the Viking Cue Open 9-Ball event on February 12-13 at The Rack in Livonia, MI. Binion earned an undefeated victory with his dominant performance throughout the weekend. On Sunday night, Binion faced Pat White for the hot seat, and White managed to stay within striking range. But Binion was just too tough, as he took the victory 9-6. White headed to the semifinals to face Adam Smith, who had been playing solid 9-ball in the one-loss side. Smith continued his comeback trail with a 9-5 win, earning himself a spot in the finals against Binion. In the double-elimination finals, Smith needed two sets to snare the victory, while Vinion needed only one. In the first set, Smith came out firing and held onto the lead for a 9-5 win. The second set was do or die for both players, and they kept it close throughout the match. Smith reached the hill first at 8-6, but Binion never gave in, as he took three straight racks to take home the victory 9-8.
