Today's winners' bracket matches narrowed the remaining players in that bracket to a total of four. Jimmy Wetch put up a good fight but was ultimately relegated to the one-loss side of the bracket by Ralf Souquet by the score of 11-5. Francisco Bustamante, InsidePOOL Magazine's Male Player of the Year for 2002, walked through his match with "Mad Max" Eberle, defeating Hollywood Billiards' house pro 11-2. And Johnny Archer enjoyed a good match against Finland's Mika Immonen, winning 11-5. Archer will go on to play Bustamante on Thursday at 2:30 PM.
In the one-loss side, Earl Strickland eked out a win over Paul Brienza 11-9 to go on tomorrow to challenge Teddy Garrahan on Thursday. Jose Parica eliminated Frankie Hernandez and will play Korean sensation Young Hwa Jeoung. Derby City's all-around champ, Larry Nevel, will face off with Canada's Paul Potier. InsidePOOL Magazine's Female Player of the Year for 2002, Allison Fisher (pictured), defeated Ewa Laurance earlier in the winners' bracket by the score of 9-2. Singer and songwriter Line Kjorsvik sent "The Texas Tornado," Vivian Villareal, to the one-loss side 9-6. Helena Thornfeldt triumphed in her match against Shin Mei Liu by the score of 9-3. Karen Corr defeated "G-Force" Gerda Hofstatter 9-3 as well. Corr will play Thornfeldt on Thursday at 2:30 PM, while Fisher and Kjorsvik face off at the same time.
