In the second set of the finals, Bustamante jumped to a 2-0 lead, but Horsfall was determined to give him a run for the $50,000 first-place prize. Horsfall won the next three in a row to take the lead at 3-2. Bustamante got the next rack, but after his opponent sold out on a safety attempt, Horsfall found himself on the hill 4-3. The next rack was electric, with a tough safety battle on the 2 ball ending with Bustamante lining it up with the 9 for Horsfall, who called it but barely missed. on his way to the runout, Bustamante rattled the 5 ball in the corner pocket to the roar of the crowd. With a 6-9 combo down the rail, Horsfall tried for it but missed, and Bustamante tied it at the hill from there. Horsfall played out the next rack nicely, winning the second set 5-4.
