Online shoppers will be able to purchase the Billiards Education Foundation benefit poster at the Billiards Congress of America’s website and at www.poolpaintings.com. Also, number one of two-hundred-and-fifty (1/250) of a signed limited-edition print, “The Last Shot,” will be on display and auctioned for the BEF on May 18 at the Riviera Hotel.

“…Robins uses warped perspectives to powerful psychological effect in these tunnel scenes and in a series of images he made of all-night billiard halls. In one, a shiny black eight ball dwarfs the surrounding players; in another, a corner pocket looms in the foreground like a yawning abyss. The artist paints confidently, as though determined to get his thoughts out quickly in a kind of colorful automatic writing.”  Sarah Schmerler, “New World Art Center Exhibit,” Art News February 1998

Gallery Diamante in Carmel, CA, the parent company of POOLPAINTINGS.COM, opened a year ago showcasing the Expressionist paintings of New York Artist Arthur Robins.  Robins’ work covers genre as varied and eclectic as city-subway scenes to biblical paintings.
