On the other side of the winners’ bracket, Mears defeated Sheri Cole 7-4, Jody Taylor 7-2, Tracy Koss 7-5, and Andrea Knieper 7-4.  After losing to Jerome, she defeated Rim 7-4 to regain her chance at first place. 

In the finals, Mears took the lead at 4-1.  The momentum then shifted, and it was Jerome who tied the score at 4-4.  She then went o­n to win the next three games, but Mears fought back to make the score 7-6 in Jerome’s favor.  From there, Jerome took off, winning the next two to win the title 9-6.
