After the first fifteen games, the wager was upped from $300 to $500 per man, and by the end of the first game with the new stakes, Williams was ousted after a nice run-out by Deuel. Strickland seems to be playing a bit erratically, but for the most part, the five are playing their hearts out and loving it. The banter between them is rolling, and the crowd is standing room only at this point.
The next round will see the games upped to $1,000 per man. Currently, Jimmy Wetch is leading with $8,900, and Deuel is on his heels with $8,700. With Pagulayan's win of the last rack, he is tied at $4,600 with Strickland. Morris now trails the pack with $3,200. As Smith put it, "It can all change in a Louisville minute."
