Eleven of the top twelve finishers are ranked (by points) in the top fourteen (Kelly Fisher is ranked number. 22), according the WPBA's website, so there is likely to be a few names moving up or down in the coming week. The most notable performance was that of Helena "The Sledgehammer" Thornfeldt, who belted through with a second-place finish. She came into the event ranked eleventh and should move into the top ten. Both Kelly Fisher and Tiffany Nelson captured two of their highest personal finishes, as they tied for fifth. Fisher came into the event ranked no. 22, while Nelson held the fourteenth spot. Jeanette Lee and InsidePOOL Magazine's 2004 Player of the Year Ga-Young Kim, pulled in at seventh, while fourth-ranked Julie Kelly reeled in a tie for ninth place with Melissa Herndon, Sarah Elleby, and Gerda Hofstatter. Thornfeldt and Fisher both went undefeated and met in the hot seat match on Sunday afternoon. The two competitors battled back and forth, but Fisher came out on top with a 9-7 win. In the one-loss side, Karen Corr ousted Kelly Fisher and Monica Webb to reach the semifinals against Thornfeldt. Corr might have been seeking a little revenge, as Thornfeldt at knocked her to the west side just three matches earlier. Again, though, Thornfeldt came out on top and earned a rematch with "The Duchess" in the finals. While getting a win was on the priority list for both Fisher and Thornfeldt, each lady had a different story. Whether Fisher finished in first or second, she would still retain the points lead, while Thornfeldt was trying to breach the top ten rankings list, not to mention, pocket an extra $3,000 for coming in first. But Thornfeldt had to settle for second, as Fisher all but dominated the match, winning 9-4.
