ESPN2 to Feature “Classic” Billiards Matches Sunday

ESPN2 will present a pair of memorable Challenge of Champions billiards events Sunday beginning at 10 p.m.  The opening telecast will feature the 1993 Challenge of Champions Finals match between “King” James Rempe and Allen Hopkins.  Rempe, also known as the “Ambassador of Pool”, and Hopkins, have both been playing the game for 40-plus years.  ESPN2 will follow the showdown with the classic final-round match from the 1999 International Challenge of Champions between Francisco “Django” Bustamante and Oliver Ortmann.  Both matches concluded in sudden death.
