FORMATION OF BILLIARD CUESPORTS ALLIANCE ANNOUNCED

As a direct result of the stated plan by the Billiard Congress of America(BCA) to no longer sanction league play or related championships, CecilMesser of Portage, Indiana, announced today the formation of the"Billiard Cuesports Alliance."

The purpose of the new organization as of June 1, 2004, will be to carryon the vital and positive role of the BCA in promoting and managingorganized open competition for its player members.  The initial Board ofDirectors is to be comprised of the following individuals representingorganizations and player membership of over 60,000 cue enthusiasts:

President Cecil Messer [Portage, Indiana] (representing referees)Vice President W.C. Dixon [Odessa, TX] (representing Texas)Treasurer James Ruder [South Deerfield, MA] (representing non-stateassociation states and players)Secretary Dean Bradley the board[Fridley, MN] (representing Minnesota)Director Ted Harms (representing Canadian leagues)Director James McAllister (representing Louisiana)Director Dwaine Bowman (representing Iowa) Director Ray Lambotte (representing Illinois)Director Brynn Hoffman (representing Arizona)Director Bill Mildenberger (representing Oregon/Washington)Director Randy Reinfeldt (representing Wisconsin)Director Sandra Chamberlain (representing Oklahoma)Director Sharon Peterson (representing Michigan)Director Waylan Thurman (representing Kansas)Director Julie Ann Mitchell (representing Indiana)Director Joe Laufenberg (representing Georgia)Director Robbie Morito (representing Florida)Director David Howell (representing Colorado/Wyoming)

With plans well underway, the Billiard Cuesports Alliance - to beheadquartered in Colorado Springs, CO - expects to make firmannouncements shortly regarding the formal launch of the new organizationand arrangements for the next national championship for the coming leagueyear.

Cecil Messer stated, "With the BCA's recent decision to restrict itselfto trade-related matters, the formation of the Billiard CuesportsAlliance, administered by individuals directly representing its membersin a non-profit structure, heralds a great opportunity and new era in thefostering of open competition and the sport of billiards within theUnited States and elsewhere."
