Fury World Summit Field Narrows to 12 by InsidePOOL Magazine

NielsFeijenWordlSummit.jpgNiels Feijen defeated Rodney Morris 11-9 to advance to tonight's 9 p.m. semifinals on the winners' side, where he will face Jose Parica, who sent Tony Robles to the one-loss side with an 11-5 performance. Robles will represent the last hope for New York against Max Eberle. The Hollywood, CA, professional capped a four-match Friday with an 11-10 elimination of stalwart Nick Varner and an 11-8 win against "Machine Gun" Luc Salvas after trailing 5-0. Eberle lost his first match to Basavich on the hill Thursday night but added another double-hill victory over Canada's Edwin Montal to open his Saturday one-loss campaign.

Other matches at 7 p.m. include Mike Davis facing Morris, Ronnie Wiseman up against Williams, and Bill "Boston Billy" Ferguson against Archer. Davis bounced back from a loss to Archer that included Johnny running the last four racks, eliminating Team Amsterdam's young Nick Shulman to advance to the final 12 after nearly missing the match, stuck at the Holland Tunnel trying to reach Manhattan from Jersey on a peculiarly warm October Saturday.

The payout extends through 24 players, with $12,000 waiting for Sunday's champion. 12 players have already ended their tournament in the money.

Results13th/16th - Danny Barouty, Mika Immonen, Edwin Montal, Nick Shulman $1,000 each

17th/24th - Mike Aboudauber, Frankie Hernandez, Dick Lane, Steve Lipsky, Sean Putnam, David Rowell, Luc Salvas, Jimmy Wetch $400 each
