Gregg Hovey Appointed President of the BCA

Poway, California April 18, 2005 -Olhausen is very pleased to announce that their President, Gregg Hovey, was appointed the President of the Billiard Congress of America (BCA) for 2005.  It was an exciting turn of events, which Donny Olhausen, founder of Olhausen Billiard Mfg., Inc., and his staff heralded as o­ne of the highlights of this year’s BCA Show in Las Vegas.

After tracking Gregg down during his busy schedule, he was quoted as follows,  “I appreciate the confidence of my fellow members in electing me President of the BCA for 2005.  The BCA is moving forward with a variety of programs that will help expand our membership and businesses while increasing public awareness of the game of pool.  We want people worldwide to know how much fun playing pool can be.”

Gregg Hovey has propelled himself in the billiard industry as a force to be reckoned with.  He is an active member of the BBIA Board and travels extensively promoting the game of pool.   Mr. Hovey became president of Olhausen Billiard Manufacturing, Inc., in September 2002.  Prior to this position, he was president of Hovey & Kirby, APC, a business law firm in San Diego, California.  His past business experience includes being the executive vice president of a software company, founder of a commercial insurance brokerage, and president of two law firms.

Mr. Hovey was born in Mountain Home, Idaho, o­n September 20, 1952.  He received his BA in 1975 from the University of South Florida, and his JD from the University of California Hastings College of Law in 1983. He has served as a Judge Pro-Tem for the San Diego County Superior Court.  Mr. Hovey has been rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell, their highest rating of skill and integrity, indicating very high to pre-eminent legal ability and very high ethical standards as established by confidential opinions from members of the bar.

Gregg has carried this prestige straight into the billiard industry.  Within a three-year span he has built a reputation of integrity into the foundation of the billiard industry in his business dealings representing Olhausen Billiards, as well as the industry as a whole.
