Spectators had an eyeful during Round 4. There were three “hill” games: Ed Ames, who finished ninth in the 2004 Pechauer West Coast Tour Stop, versus Timmy Hall; Ventura-native Ron Marshall against James Carbo; and Ronnie Allen versus Geraldo Jamito, who placed second in the Total Offense Pool event. The winners of those games were Ames, Marshall, and Allen, respectfully. In Round 6 one of the longest matches occurred between Ames and Francisco Galindo. They were an impressive match, even playing a hill game, and Galindo came out the winner 9-8. 2003 Legends of one Pocket champion Scott Frost defeated 18-year-old Chong Vang 9-0. Over in Round 5 of the winners’ bracket, spectators were watching four tables. Dominguez played against Sacramento player Tony Chohan, winning 9-6. David Hemmah, 2004 Pechauer West Coast Stop event champion, and 2004 Jay Swanson Memorial champion Santos Sambajon Jr. squared off, resulting in Hemmah surviving in the end. Ian Costello tried to defeat 2002 World Artistic Pool champion Mike Massey but left the table 6-9. Also Sacramento native Amar Kang played against Tom Davis, losing the round 6-9. The last round of the evening was the seventh of the once-eliminated bracket. once again Frost won, this time beating Kang 9-2. Hunter was able to defeat Costello 9-6 in a very respectable match. Another match that had some people craning to watch was between Sambajon and Bernardo Chavez. In this nail-biter, Sambajon was able to ascend to the next level 9-6.
