Jeremy “Double J” Jones, who suffered his first defeat against Virginia State 9-Ball Champion Chris Loar the evening prior, played a good match against the BCA Juniors 14 and Under Champion, Chris Futrell. Futrell, who is sponsored by Q Master Billiards along with 15-year-old Curtis Coleman, kept with the defending champion for much of the match. Finally, when the score reached 7-6 Jones, the Texan pulled ahead and took the win 11-6. In other winners’ bracket matches, Luc Salvas of Canada defeated Allen Hopkins 11-8, Francisco Bustamante won his match against Eddie Galati 11-4, Efren Reyes defeated Jason Klatt 11-2, and Shannon Daulton advanced with his victory over Chris Orme 11-1. Scott “The Freezer” Frost, however, after his loss last night forfeited his match today and was eliminated. Thursday’s ring game is still up in the air, with players like Johnny Archer, Buddy Hall, Alex Pagulayan, Keith McCready, Corey Deuel, John Schmidt, and Luc Salvas all expressing interest in participating.
