Holt Grabs Title on Hampton Ridge Tour by InsidePOOL Magazine

Holt Grabs Title on Hampton Ridge Tour

By R.T. Mechling

Drexeline Billiards in Drexel Hill, PA, played host to 31 players as the Hampton Ridge 9-Ball Tour made its seventh stop of the season.  Lee Holt captured the victory as he bounced back from the one-loss side to gain revenge against Joe Scott at the May 15, event.

Scott faced Holt in the hot seat after wins over Chris Ward, Sam Quinzi, Keith Christman, and Eddie Abraham, while Holt defeated Lou Patrikios, Dave Daya, John Greshock, and Phil Sherman.  Scott's momentum continued as he bested Holt 7-5 to earn his first trip to the finals with the victory.

Bob Maidhof lost his first match of the tournament but put together seven consecutive victories to make it to the semifinals against Holt.  The two players reached hill-hill in the highly competitive match, but it was Holt's 4-9 combination shot that lifted him to the 7-6 win and forced Maidhof to settle for third in the tournament.  Holt's victory presented the chance to seek revenge against Scott as he advance to the finals.

Scott and Holt played a close match in their first meeting; however, the tables were turned in the final match because Holt took control and never looked back, claiming the title 9-2.

Results:
1st Lee Holt
2nd Joe Scott
3rd Bob Maidhof
4th Phil Sherman
5th Eddie Abraham, Matt Krah
7th Keith Christman, John Greshock
