Indiana Bar Table Title Goes to Gregg by InsidePOOL Magazine

Indiana Bar Table Title Goes to Gregg

By Bill Rosenberger

Brian-Gregg-Indianabartable.jpgBreakers Billiards in Muncie, IN, held the Indiana Bar Table 9-Ball Championship on April 16-17, and a talented field of 38 players gathered for a run at the title.  In the end, Brian Gregg pulled out the win to complete his undefeated weekend.

While Gregg dominated his opponents in both the hot seat and final matches, he admittedly struggled early in the tournament.  "I struggled in the beginning but settled down.  Every match was tough."

His most challenging match came on Sunday in the quarterfinals against Brian Groce, who had him down 8-6, but Gregg took three of the next five racks to win the hill-hill battle.  It was in this win that Gregg said he found his stroke, as he followed it up with a much easier 9-5 hot seat victory over Dan "Waldo" Walton to reach the finals.

In the one-loss side, Groce earned the win over Jamie Green to advance to the semifinals against Walton.  With the 9-3 lashing, Groce earned another shot at Gregg in the finals.  However, Gregg was up to the challenge, and he took home the victory 9-4.

Results:

1st Brian Gregg $1,400

2nd Brian Groce $800

3rd Dan Walton $600

4th Jamie Green $400

5th Manual Chau, Everett Snow $250

7th Sam Kirby, Ryan Stone $100
