Kennedy Wins Again on J. Pechauer Southeast Open Tour by InsidePOOL Magazine

Kennedy Wins Again on J. Pechauer Southeast Open Tour

TommyKennedy61304.jpgJ. Pechauer Southeast Open 9 Ball Tour made its sixth stop on June 12-13, 2004 at Park Avenue Billiards in Orange Park, FL, for the $1,000-added Orange Park Open.  The J. Pechauer Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour wishes to thank room owner Bill Hammock and staff for hosting this event

The tour not only pays out to the top seven spots, but also to the highest lady finisher not in the money and the highest junior finisher not in the money.  At this stop Christy Davis received $50 and Logan Brown and Nick Appleby split the $50 for the juniors.  The tour also donated $40 to the local charity.

On day one Bobby Hicks sent Tommy Kennedy to the one loss side with a score of 7-4, and shortly after that, Craig Shaw sent Hicks to the one-loss side when he defeated Hicks 9-5.

This set up a rematch between Hicks and Kennedy in the quarters.  Kennedy dominated the match, relegating Hicks to fourth place with a 9-0 drubbing.  Shaw was battling Dave Grossman to see who would land in the hot seat.  Grossman won the spot with a commanding 9-4 defeat of Shaw.

Shaw then traveled to meet Kennedy in the semis.  Kennedy fought his way through the west side and was determined to keep fighting until he reached the finals.  His 9-5 victory over Shaw ensured he would make back to the other side of the chart and to the finals.

Kennedy and Grossman battled it out in the finals, keeping the score close until the very end.  It could have been anyone's game until the final deciding rack.  The score was hill-hill when Kennedy took the game ball to win the event.

Results:1st Tommy Kennedy $7002nd Dave Grossman $4703rd Craig Shaw $3704th Bobby Hicks $2505th Mike Donavon $1006th Larry Gayle $1007th Butch Croft, Neil Fugiwara $70
