Korea Versus Japan Ultimate Pool Challenge by InsidePOOL Magazine

Korea Versus Japan Ultimate Pool Challenge

On May 10-11, Dragon Promotions will produce one of the hottest pool team events ever as Team Korea goes head to head with Team Japan. Neighboring countries Korea and Japan also happen to have one of the biggest sports rivalries in the world.

Korea's number-one sports network MBCESPN will film the event and air all eight hours of the event nationally for eight consecutive weeks at a weekly time slot. Each team consists of three men and one woman and will play combination of doubles and singles matches.

Team Korea is represented by its all-star team that includes number-one ranked Woong Dae Kim, 2004 Asia Tour number one Young Hwa Jeong, number-two ranked Shin Young Park, and Seoul Open and Korea International Championships Women’s runner-up Yun Mi Lim.

Team Japan is represented by a strong contingent of talent, including number-one Japan ranked and Seoul Open champion Hiroshi Takenaka, number-three ranked Yoshiyuki Niwa , Shizoka Open semi-finalist Masanari Higaki, and new Japanese women’s sensation Yukari Matsufusa.

MBCESPN is the top sponsor of the event, and Brunswick Billiards is the official table.  The event will use Brunswick Centennial Balls and the new Brunswick Centennial Cloth. Falcon is the official cue, and Sardo is the official rack.

Prior to the event will be three guaranteed purse pro-am tournaments, and following the event will be a KPT pro ranking point tournament for all Korean professional players.

Korea versus Japan Ultimate Pool Challenge is a part of the Brunswick Korea Pro Pool Tour and a Dragon Promotions Production.
