The main event included all the top-ranked players in the JBC, including #1 Ranked Hiroshi Takenaka and #2 Ranked Shuji Nagata (President of the JBC), but both players were upsetted early in the event. 

The o­nly other foreign player in the event was Taiwan's Lee Wen Lo, who also had to qualify in Stage 1. Lo and Williams ran through their brackets and were heading to each other like a freight train. Williams, still o­n fire from his Mezz Seoul  Open victory the week before, could not be stopped as he ran over his opponents in record times with scores 9-2, 9-0, 9-2, and finally 9-5 over Lo in the finals.
