Korsiak Wins First Action Tour Event

The Action Tour, held at Rack N Roll Billiards every Sunday, kicked off o­n December 5, 2004, with Joey Korsiak leading the way.  Tour owner Jerry Tarentola welcomed the small field, but believes the future is bright.

"Once I really build up the tournaments, I'll be able to make it an official tour," he said.  "I'm expecting at least twenty-five guys a week."

The single-elimination tournament saw Korsiak bounce out Neil Paxton 8-5, with Paxton getting three games o­n the wire.  In the other semifinal match, Stan Uzar ousted Jimmy Banks 7-6. 

The final match between Korsiak and Uzar was actually a little tight, but Korsiak did manage to run away with it for a 7-4 win.  Tarentola said that he expects at least o­ne big name to compete every Sunday.  "I know all the guys-Korsiak, Danny Basavich, [Robb] Saez-it's just a matter of time before I have those names here."
