Lampert Fires Off Another Fast Eddies Win by InsidePOOL Magazine

Lampert Fires Off Another Fast Eddies Win

By InsidePOOL Staff

When Amanda Lampert enters a Fast Eddie's 9-Ball event, she's almost a sure bet to at least reach the finals.  on March 13, she didn't disappoint anyone in Beaumont, TX, but she did have to win it the hard way-by sweeping Helen Hayes in the finals.

Lampert had already earned five tour wins going into the event, while Hayes is fairly new to the tour and has yet to tally her first victory.  Early on, both ladies dominated their matches like veterans, each winning three in a row to meet up in the hot seat match.  Hayes played like a she had been there before, besting Lampert 7-5 to reach the finals.

In the one-loss side, Belinda Lee, who fell to Lampert in the second round, fought her way back with three straight wins to earn a rematch with Lampert in the semifinals.  Again, though, Lampert proved too much, and Lee had to settle for third place after the 5-2 defeat.

In the finals, Hayes needed to win just one set to capture her first Fast Eddie's victory, but Lampert saw things differently.  In the first set, she dominated Hayes to earn the 7-3 win, but in the second set, it looked like Hayes might be able to close it out.  After Hayes grew her lead to 5-3, Lampert went to work, winning the final four games to close out the tournament 7-3.

Results:
1st Amanda Lampert $490
2nd Helen Hayes $315
3rd Belinda Lee $210
4th Rebecca Goodnight $125
