Tournament director and room owner of Quentin Corner, Mark Haddad reported, "Larry's playing as good as anyone out there right now." This could easily be true, for after his nail-biting hill-hill win over Spencer, Nevel went on to a 7-4 win over Jamie Baraks. Afterwards, Nevel said, "It went pretty good. No complaints." He credited the Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour with excellent events, and admitted that his most difficult match was against Spencer, whom he said played real good in the beginning.
