With a total purse of $7,240 up for grabs, most of the top players in the Northeast came to play. Players such as Mike Davis, Ryan McCreesh, Filipino Santos Sambajon, Danny Hewitt, Karen Corr, Julie Kelly, and Jerry Slivka all vied for the first-place prize of $1,750. But after the two-day event it was Keith McCready standing in the winner’s circle after having defeated Hernandez 9-3 in the finals. Afterward, McCready stated, "Mike Zuglan has done it again. What magnificent venue it was at the Golden Cue in Albany, New York. This is a real player's poolroom, and I am impressed with the enthusiasm for pool up in this part of the country. The owners made everybody feel special and went out of their way to make sure all the players were comfortable. The fans were treated to some first-class action, to include Karen Corr and Julie Kelly. What is nice is when everybody, players and spectators, have a good time. My hat goes off to the Golden Cue and Joss Tour. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to shine."
