Ryan McCreesh continued to roll with one less hour of sleep on Sunday, defeating Chester Taylor, Mike Davis, and Doug Sharp before running into the favorite of the top half of the bracket, Jerry Slivka. This highly anticipated match turned out to be all McCreesh, who scored the 9-2 victory. In the elimination bracket, Rasmeloungon recovered from his early loss to knock out Perryman, Tolson, Bean, Stottlemyer, and Lincoln before running into Mike Davis. A few minutes later, Rasmeloungon was back at the director’s table with a 7-0 smile on his face. He was not done yet and moved on past newcomer Reggie Jackson and placed McCready into fourth place. A 7-5 decision over Slivka set up a rematch with McCreesh in the final. This set was close the whole way, as both players were shooting well and staying in control. When it all ended, it was McCreesh scoring the 9-7 victory for the tournament win. McCreesh is currently 15-0 in his last two Planet Pool event wins. First place paid $1,500, with $850 for second place. Twenty-four ladies took advantage of the extra hour of pool for Daylight Saving Time to take part in the Sunday-only event. Malea Haacke continued to take advantage of open division practice on Saturday and survived a tough first-round match with Judi Sandall 7-5. That was to be her toughest match of the day, as she easily advanced to a hot seat match-up with Amanda Page. A 7-3 win put Haacke into a holding pattern while the elimination bracket fought it out. Gwen Dickert posted another high finish, placing Pauline Mattes into the fourth-place spot before losing a 5-3 set to Page. Haacke quickly doused Page’s enthusiasm with a 7-0 whitewash for the tournament win. Haacke earned $400 for her second undefeated run in the last two Planet Pool events. Ryan McCreesh takes control of the open division points list, with Malea Haacke extending her lead in the women’s division.
