McCreesh lost to McNally in the one-loss side of the bracket earlier in the event, only to fight his way through some challenging competitors to make it to the finals. He sent Shawn Wilkie home with a fourth-place finish and went on to meet Steele, relegating him to third place and setting up a rematch with McNally. The final match consisted of a race to 9, and no one had more than a two-game lead during this nail-biting event. At 5-all, McCreesh announced, "We got a grudge match!" Finally, with the score at hill-hill, McNally broke and scratched. McCreesh wisely chose to play safe, and McNally missed an attempted kick shot. Unfortunately for him, this lined up a nice 1-9 carom for McCreesh, which he made for the 9-8 win, collecting $675 and a trophy.
