In the winners' bracket, Shawn Putnam (pictured below to the left) and Jimmy Reid fought a sluggish battle that ended in an 11-9 win for Putnam, "The Love Sponge."  As a surprise victory, Oklahoma player Gabe Owen defeated Rafael Martinez in a tight match 11-10.  Cliff Joyner defeated road player Bryce Avila by the score of 11-3.  And Shannon "The Cannon" Daulton won his match against Scott Hafley in another close match 11-10.  Daulton had been down 5-0, then 7-2, and then 10-5 before he ran the set out.  "I got away with it; that's all that matters," he said afterwards.
