Morgan Shines in Amsterdam Tri-State Event

 The best weather weekend of the year so far ushered 43 players to play in an A, B, C, D event at Amsterdam Billiards & Bar West in New York City, NY, o­n April 17. The field was very strong with some great players and some up-and-coming new stars.

Sean “Alaska” Morgan played exceptionally well and went through the entire event undefeated, besting the likes of Geoffrey Bauer, Elijah Fayerman, Jeff Tischler, and Ben Masucci before he met his toughest two opponents. Rising star o­n the WPBA, Jennifer Barretta was ahead in her set with Morgan 5-3 before a lucky roll and a 9 o­n the break brought Alaska up to 5-all.  He then went o­n to run out the next rack and then get out from the 2 to reach the hot seat.

Barretta moved to the o­ne-loss side where she met the peaking Edward Ng. Ng played extremely well and repaid Barretta for sending him to the o­ne-loss side earlier by defeating her 7-5. In the finals between Morgan and Ng, Alaska couldn’t be denied—he got ahead and never looked back, winning the set 8-6.
