Morra in Paradise with 10K WinBy Bill Rosenberger John Morra earned a tough victory at Pool Paradise on November 27-28, 2004, in Waterloo, ontario. But a talented field in the 10K Tour made it hard for him to run away with it.
Sunday's matches saw 12 players return to action, with last stop's winner Eric Hildebrand going up against Morra. Hildebrand emerged victorious, and Morra headed to the semifinals to face Jeff White, who had just ousted Chris Battle and D.J. McInley. Morra and White were evenly matched throughout the contest, and they reached the hill at 6 apiece. Morra made the tough shots and took the 7-6 victory to get to the finals. In the first set, Morra gained confidence and grabbed a 7-4 win. In the second set, it was "Morra" the same for Hildebrand, as he mostly watched the match from the sidelines. Morra took the final set 7-1 and earned a well-deserved $2,600 first-place prize. Results: 1st John Morra $2,600 2nd Eric Hildebrand $1,400 3rd Jeff White $900 4th D.J.
