No Tricks, Just Treats for Broxson David Broxson dominated the J. Pechauer Southeast 9-Ball Tour on Halloween weekend and took home first place in the South Florida Open. The event, held at Play-Boy Billiards in Lake Worth, FL, drew 52 players, including some from as far away as Canada. Tournament director Tommy Kennedy also had another strong showing, blowing through the field to meet Broxson in the hot seat. In a back-and-forth match that went to the hill, Broxson pulled out all the stops and took the final game to win 9-8. Meanwhile, in the west bracket quarterfinals, Tony Crosby and Claude Marrier faced off, but Crosby gained control of the table and easily won 9-3. Crosby then advanced to the semifinals to face Kennedy, and in his second straight hill-hill match, Kennedy came out on top 9-8 to advance to the finals. The final match was a hot seat rematch between Broxson and Kennedy, but the outcome would be the same. Broxson took an early lead and ran away with the match 11-3 to complete the sweep and his undefeated weekend.
