One-Pocket Down to Final Nine by InsidePOOL Magazine

In the last lengthy game, Morris ran 3 from the start and tried for a bank on the 3 ball but left it hanging.  Bryant missed his shot, and Morris ran 4 to reach the hill, but he got poor position on his next shot.  Both players shoot throw-in shots for a while, trading innings, but Bryant started making a comeback in the latter half of the game and brought the score to 7-5.  After Morris left the cueball on the bottom rail, Bryant left Morris a makeable shot by putting the cue behind the 7 ball.  The one-Pocket Rocket cut it all the way down the rail to win the fourth game 8-5 and the match 3-1.

In the 9-ball event, approximately half of the 313-player field has now been eliminated.  "Earthquake" Keith McCready, who was eliminated in the first two divisions rather quickly and has been suffering from a touch of the flu, had an easy time in his match with Tom Moore where he drubbed Moore 7-0.  George Breedlove, who hasn't played since the BCA Open 9-Ball event last May at the Riviera Hotel & Casino, matched up with Scott Frost in the same round and came away the worse for it.  Up 2-1, Frost broke and ran out, made the 9 ball on his next break, and then played a 4-9 combo to put the score at 5-1.  Breedlove got one more game under his belt before Frost reached the hill after a miss on the 6 by his opponent.  Breedlove had a couple of nice break-and-runs to almost pull even with Frost, but after an excellent kick-safe by "The Freezer" in the last game with the score at 6-5 Frost, Breedlove left a shot, and that was all Frost needed to run out the remaining balls to win the match 7-5.
