Owen suffered his first loss early in the event and fought his way back through the west side of the chart to arrive in the finals against Daniel Neldner, who defeated Joey Gray in the hot seat match.  Gray fell victim to Owen's determination and went home with third place.  In the true double-elimination finals, Owen defeated Neldner 9-5 in the first set and 9-3 in the second to take first place.
