Doug and Ronnie Berest, proprietors of Back/Street Billiards were ideal hosts over the weekend. Play started on Saturday morning, as scheduled and ran through the day and into the evening. Local player Josh Smith came through the tough field after suffering an early loss to Tinsley Johnson. He snuck through a match against Tour point leader John Doherty in a hill-hill showdown; then battled it out with 4th place leader Glenn Atwell defeating him 9-6. The young Smith lost again to Tinsley Johnson leaving him in a very respectable 4th place. Another new member to the tour, Tommy Baker came out of the gate gangbusters moving through the tournament like a man on fire and took the hot seat from Rafael Martinez, who has yet to score a Championship Title at one of the Pechauer Tour stops. This one was not meant for Martinez either. After his loss to Baker, he faced Tinsley Johnson from California, who seemed determined to obtain a victory. Johnson, who suffered his first loss to Baker, earned the opportunity for revenge. Baker would have none of it in the final race to 13. He made it clear that he is the player to be reckoned with in Idaho and Utah; he will defend his turf! He won the title with a 13-5 decisive victory. 1st Baker, Tommy 200 1000 2nd Johnson, Tinsley 150 800 3rd Martinez, Rafael 125 500 4th Smith, Josh 100 300 5th Juarez, Paul 80 150 Berest, Doug 807th Silva, Paul 65 125 Atwell, Glenn 65 9th Camantique, Randy 50 Duclos, John 50 Kirk, Jerry 50 Byrum, Daryll 50 13th Doherty, John 35 Chandler, Scott 35 Jimenez, Jeff 35 Anderson, Roger 35 17th Hanks, Steven 20 Pierce, Jim 20 InsidePOOL
