Playtime for DeYoung on Fury Midwest Tour By J.A. Barnes Fields are growing larger and stronger in the newly formed Fury Midwest Amateur 9-Ball Tour, as 43 players turned out for the April 2-3 event at Playtime Billiard in Portage, MI. As the tournament sifted out players, it became a showdown between Ted Reeves, Mark DeYoung, and last stop's winner, Casey Ward. It looked like Ward might have been en route to a second straight victory when he defeated DeYoung 7-6 to get into the hot seat match against Reeves. Reeves played strong all day to reach this point as well, and he earned another hard-fought hill-hill win over Ward to secure his spot in the finals. Ward headed to the semifinals to face DeYoung, whom he had sent their just a few matches earlier. This time, DeYoung was ready for him, leaving Ward stifled with a 5-1 win. DeYoung's victory propelled him into the finals to face Reeves, and for the second straight match, DeYoung couldn't be stopped. His 9-1 victory earned him his first tour victory of the season.
