Pulford Continues Hot Streak by InsidePOOL Magazine

Pulford Continues Hot Streak

By Bill Rosenberger

Heather Pulford continued her hot streak of play on the Fast Eddie's Olhausen 9-Ball Tour with her third straight win on February 6.  The event, which was held at the N. W. Military location in San Antonio, TX, drew 25 ladies, including Kim Pierce, Amanda Lampert, and Leslie Anne Rogers.

Besides the usual successes of Lampert and Pulford, two up-and-coming ladies earned two of their highest finishes.  Tara McCracken, who has shown consistent improvement in the past year, finished in fourth, while newcomer Kyu Yi, who recently moved from California, proved with her third-place finish that she'll be a force to reckon with at every event.

Yi was handed her first defeat in the quarterfinals by Lampert, but she rebounded with a win over McCracken before being ousted by Pulford in the semifinals.  Pulford, who fell from the winners' bracket in the hot seat match, earned her way back for a rematch with Lampert in the finals.

Lampert, though, found herself in familiar territory-a Fast Eddie's final-and she just needed to win one set to hold on, while Pulford needed a two-set sweep.  In the first set, Pulford managed to pull away for a 7-4 win and then proceeded to finish off the double-dip with a second 7-4 win to take the victory.

Results:

1st Heather Pulford $740
2nd Amanda Lampert $495
3rd Kyu Yi $330
4th Tara McCracken $200
