Reigning Supreme, Rogers Takes First on Hunter Tour by InsidePOOL Magazine

Reigning Supreme, Rogers Takes First on Hunter Tour

Current tour champion Leslie Anne Rogers looks like she is going for a fourth straight year as the Hunter Classics Amateur Women's Tour champion if her win at the August 7-8, 2004 stop at Legend's Billiards is any indication.  She moved into first place undefeated and took home a WPBA qualifier for 2005 for it.

Things really started cooking when Rogers sent hot-seat opponent Tara McCracken to the one-loss side with a commanding 7-1 score.  Waiting for her there was Heather Pulford, who had just come from a victory over Rachel Hurst in the quarterfinals.  McCracken was determined for another shot at first and easily eliminated Pulford 7-3 to get her shot at the finals.

Giving Rogers a run for the qualifier, McCracken didn't allow her opponent any space to relax.  McCracken was on Rogers' heels for the entire match, giving the only competition Rogers had during the event.  It wasn't enough, though, and Rogers took first place and the WPBA qualifier with a close 7-5 final decision.

Results:
1st Leslie Anne Rogers
2nd Tara McCracken
3rd Heather Pulford
4th Rachel Hurst
