The action really heated up on Thursday evening when Jose Parica met recent Hard Times Jamboree one-pocket champ Billy Palmer. All the other tables quieted when Parica took a commanding 7-1 lead, making a series of breathtaking shots. It seemed Palmer spent virtually the entire match watching the master work him over, and when he got his chances, he failed to do anything with them until his rally to come within five games at 7-2. However, Parica got back to business, taking the next game to go up 8-2. A dry break by Parica gave his opponent new life, and Palmer won the next three games to bring the score to 8-5. Parica put on a clinic, making a number of difficult shots and then pleasing the crowd with a 4-9 combination to win 9-5. Visit InsidePOOL for the latest news in the sport of billiards and pool.
