Reyes Captures Mid-Atlantic Title by InsidePOOL Magazine

Younghwa-jeoungmidfinals.jpgThe final match between Reyes and Hwa-Jeoung was a single extended race to 13.  Hwa-Jeoung, currently ranked number one in Korea, won the lag but ended up giving the game to Reyes after a scratch.  From there the two traded games  until Reyes left Hwa-Jeoung behind with 4 games while he kept on, reaching 9 before Hwa-Jeoung got another game, making the score 9-5 Reyes.  Reyes won the next two games as well and then scratched on the break, giving ball-in-hand to the Korean champion.  Hwa-Jeoung ran out, making the score 11-6 Reyes.  Unfortunately for Hwa-Jeoung, he scratched on the 5 ball attempting to get position on the 7, and Reyes reached the hill.  The last game started off with both players missing a hanging 1 ball; after Hwa-Jeoung's miss, Reyes lined up perfectly for a 4-9 combo and won the match 13-6.
