Rhee Extends Planet Pool StreakBy Bill Rosenberger Sueyen Rhee picked up right where she left off on the Planet Pool Ladies 9-Ball Tour. She finished off the 2004 season with two straight wins, and on January 30 at Champion Billiards Café in Laurel, MD, she impressed the field again with her third straight victory.
The interesting thing about Rhee is that her final two tour wins last year were come-from-behind victories, and again on Sunday, Rhee showed why you can count her down but never out. The field of 30 ladies did the best they could to hold Rhee back, but in the end, she again bounced back. Rhee faced Kathleen Lawless in the hot seat match, falling 7-6 in a tight contest. Rhee headed to the semifinals to play Janet Keith, a newcomer to the Planet Pool Tour. The defeat to Lawless must have fired Rhee up, because she concluded the event with a 5-0 win over Keith and a 7-0 shutout against Lawless to win her final 12 games and chalk up another Planet Pool victory.
