Round Two Complete at the BCA Open 9-Ball Championships by InsidePOOL Magazine

Johnny “The Scorpion” Archer came back from a 7-2 deficit against Hisashi Yamamoto to knot the score at 9 and then miss the 9 ball in the corner pocket.  Yamamoto took the hill, but Archer then broke and ran out to tie again.  After fouling on a jump shot attempt, Yamamoto was forced to give Archer ball in hand for the 11-10 victory.

A great comeback was seen by Teddy Garrahan in his match against Francisco “Django” Bustamante.  The Filipino gained a 5-0 lead before Garrahan got on the board.  Slowly fighting back, the New Jersey player brought the score to 10-8 before finally succumbing.

Julie Kelly had a tough match with Belinda Calhoun in which she was up 8-5 and missed a relatively easy shot on the 9.  She then found herself up 8-6 and missed the 9 again.  In the next rack, the Irish native did pocket the 9 ball, winning the match 9-7.

The top ladies in the winners’ bracket all advanced.  Karen Corr had a 9-5 victory against Angelina Paglia, Allison Fisher defeated Melissa Morris 9-6, and Jeanette Lee scored a 9-6 win over Ikumi Ushiroda.
