Ruby Comes Up With the Gold on 4 T’s Tour Stop by InsidePOOL Magazine

Ruby Comes Up With the Gold on 4 T’s Tour Stop

By InsidePOOL Staff

Regular Dayton, OH, player Frank Ruby bested a tough field at the 4 T’s Tiny Taverns Towns Tour stop at the Loyal Order of Moose in Piqua, OH, on Saturday, September 25.  Fifteen players qualified for this incredibly cash-rich event, with first place taking home a cool $10,000.

The 8-ball, double-elimination tournament, held on Valley coin-op tables, saw some of the strongest players in the Ohio area qualify, among them Dee Adkins, who came in fifth.  Tony Mougey, another difficult opponent, had the bad luck to run into Jason “Killer” Miller in the quarterfinals and was relegated to fourth place.  Miller, who won the 2004 Derby City Classic 9-ball banks division, went on to meet Deuel after he was defeated by Ruby in the hot seat match.  Deuel got back on his game in the semis, sending Miller home with third place after their hill-hill match.

Having earned his rematch with Ruby, Deuel fought tooth and nail to triumph in the first set of the final match, winning 3-2.  However, in the second match he faltered, and despite Deuel’s bringing it to the hill again, Ruby was able to pull ahead 3-2 in the second and final match of the event, taking home the enviable $10,000 first-place prize.

The 4 T’s next qualifier will take place on October 3 at Paul’s Bar in Piqua, OH, and their next event will be at Side Pockets in Fort Wayne, IN, on December 18.  So far, the tour has paid out $41,000 to its lucky winners.  For more information, please call 937-478-8611.

Results:

1st Frank Ruby $10,000

2nd Corey Deuel $3,000

3rd Jason Miller

4th Tony Mougey
