Saez Leads Hitman Squad at Capone’s by InsidePOOL Magazine

Saez will face “The Korean Dragon,” who is fresh off a replay of his finals win over Morris here in 2003. While Rodney was able to get away with a miss on the seven early in the set, another at five games each proved fatal, as Charlie prevailed 7-5. While Morris was then eliminated by Melbourne, FL’s, Ferguson, other top threats survived on the one-loss side. Tommy Kennedy gained strength as the night wore on, and he’ll be Ferguson’s opponent to start Sunday.

Fort Walton Beach, FL, resident David Broxson has looked sharp and will play Maryland’s action star Pooky Rasmeloungen, who upset John Schmidt 7-5 in the third round. Buddy Hall had been sent west by Ray “Cool Cat” Martin in a double-hill match, and while Martin can look forward to an in-stroke Troy Frank on the winners’ side, “The Rifleman” had to win a couple facing elimination just to reach Schmidt. Having won all three times he’s entered an event at Capone’s, Schmidt escaped with a fortunate roll, miscuing on the 7 ball and coming up frozen to it with Hall leading 6-5. While Buddy was eliminated by his second 7-6 defeat, Schmidt survived to face Josh Degler today.
