Sevierville Belongs to EdwardsBy Bill Rosenberger The J. Pechauer Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour rolled into Sevierville, TN, for the Tennessee Run Out Open on March 5-6, and Russ Edwards rolled out with the win. Edwards led the 38-player field, coming back through the one-loss side at Sevierville Billiard Club. After Edwards exited to the west side on Saturday, courtesy of a 7-5 defeat to Anthony Morgan, he went on a tear and emerged into quarterfinals on Sunday. His opponent was Rob Ganote, who was yet another victim of Morgan. But after Edwards' 9-7 win, he got another shot at Morgan in the semifinals. Morgan, who fell to Jon Hennessee 9-1 in the hot seat, came at Edwards with a vengeance, as he tried to get back to the finals for a rematch. The two competitors battled back and forth, but it was Edwards who came out on top of the hill-hill match. In the finals, Edwards played almost as flawlessly as he had in his day-and-a-half run in the left bracket. His 9-6 comeback win over Hennessee earned him first place and the respect of all the players and fans in attendance.
