April 5th and 6th players from California to Canada arrived in Spokane ready to compete and hopefully either further their lead in the tour or close the gap at the top. Stan Tourangeau made it happen! After a disappointing loss for the hot seat against World Champion Rafael Martinez with a score of 9-2, Tourangeau came back through the loser's bracket to give it a second chance. In the final race to 13, Tourangeau looked like a whipped dog down by a deficit of 7 games at a score of 9-2. Tourangeau fans know better than to count him out; he hates losing more than most anything! Second place would not be good enough for Tourangeau in Spokane.
He came back to tie the score and pass Martinez 11-10 and promptly finished out the set leaving Martinez to win only 1 game in 11! The crowd witnessed an amazing level of ability from both players as well as unparalleled heart and determination from our Canadian friend Stan. Earning 200 points for first place bumped Tourangeau up to within 15 points of former tour leader Billy Palmer. Martinez's second place finish and 150 points gave him quite a jolt as well. He overtook Glenn Atwell for 4th place in the overall standings. 1st Stan Tourangeau 200 1200 2nd Rafael Martinez 150 900 3rd Bryce Avila 125 625 4th Randy Camantique 100 325 5th John Horsfall 80 200 Tony Waters 80 7th Dan Louie 65 100 Paul Silva 65 9th Glenn Atwell 50 75 Lance Salazar 50 David Williams 50 Wayne Boyd 50 12th John Duclos 35 Soud Al Abdulraza 35 Randy Oristrom 35 Shannon Gibson 35 InsidePOOL
