Stars Support the Eighth Annual Sorvino Asthma Foundation by InsidePOOL Magazine

Paul Sorvino of “Goodfellas” and Women’s Trick Shot runner-up Ewa Laurance will compose the first team, facing off with Alfredo Versace and recent BCA 9-Ball Open victor Tony Robles.  “Top Gun” totalitarian James Tolkan and InsidePOOL Magazine columnist Mike Massey will match up with the founder of the Backstreet Boys and In Sync, Lou Pearlman, and his teammate Fran Crimi, the only female master BCA instructor.  “Law and Order’s” Jerry Orbach, a constant in the pool scene, and Hall of Famer Loree Jon Jones will meet singer Aaron Carter and his teammate, the legendary “Machine Gun” Lou Butera.  The last match will consist of Ken Trudeau, a notable television salesperson, and Mike “Captain Hook” Sigel facing Andre Phillipi Gagnon, an entertainer, and his partner, world champion Allen Hopkins.

Round 1 of Saturday’s matches saw Paul Sorvino and Ewa Laurance come back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat Alfredo Versace and Tony Robles in a hill-hill match.  They then suffered a 5-2 defeat at the hands of James Tolkan and Mike Massey.  Jerry Orbach and Loree Jon Jones won the first match against Aaron Carter and Lou Butera 5-3 but lost their next match against Kevin Trudeau and Mike Sigel 5-4.  The Sigel/Trudeau team then went on to meet the Massey/Tolkan partnership and was wiped out 5-0 in the hot seat match.  Sunday’s matches will whittle the one-loss side bracket to the final team out of the four remaining ones, and the finals are scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
